Interesting Facts

James Silberman was a principal editor for Frank Yerby from 1952 until 1963. He worked on:
The Devil's Laughter
Benton's Row
The Treasure of Pleasant Valley
Captain Rebel
Fairoaks
The Serpent and the Staff
Jarret's Jade
Gillian
The Garfield Honor

and
Griffin's Way

Bride of Liberty which was also written during this time was not published by Dial Press. Silberman believes that by returning the gold to the ground in The Treasure of Pleasant Valley, Yerby was rejecting his own financial success.

Robert Cornfield while working for Dial Press in the 1970s edited two of Yerby's Books, The Dahomean and A Girl From Storyville
